Isola Comacina

The island, still little explored, has been in the enter of a turbulent and adventurous Middle Ages. It is found in the bay of the western coast of the Como side of the Lake Como that is between Argegno and the peninsula of Lavedo. The students call it "Pompei of the Lario" and are considered one of the more important archaeological areas of the Lombardy.
The Comacina Island, is the only island of the lake, was inhabited since remote ages, and was the center of numerous medieval battles. To visit the Comacina Island does not mean alone to discover the history and the natural beauties but also to taste the scents that its food offer. A pause to the Locanda dell' Isola, is therefore the best advise.
