North lake

The territory of the Lake of Como is known as "Alto Lario" (north lake). It is an area full of history and nature and with the unspoilt beauty of its landscape, the zone retains a precise identity which distinguishes it from other Como territories.

It is a land of antique traditions which has been able to exploit to its best the neighbouring Switzerland and Northern Europe becoming the destination of those who love water and alpine sports.

From Menaggio towards north, the landscape of the Lago of Como from idyllic is shrunk and it is made wilder, in order then, like of spell, to reopen in a wide water turn to which fan from background a mount frame and goes them alpine.

Here to show oneself on the sides variously lengthened or ricurvate in waters the borgate ones of Dongo, Gravedona, Domaso, Gera Lario and Mouse-like. Of against, on the opposite side, the country of Colico, carefullied lay down on the stratums of the imposing Legnone Mount which, with its roccaforti full of rocks, form a natural gulf: the bay of Piona.
